marceline and bubblegum on an adventure!
Inspired by the lovely blooming trees of spring.

me as an anime queen who eats everything
This was more difficult than I anticipated. I haven’t drawn in an anime type style in so long that I needed to do at least 5 practice sketches to get a hang of it. Also, I forgot your glasses and added them but they looked weird so here is the version without. But I also have the one with glasses if you are interested.

Anime Queen Claire (literally) eats EVERYTHING with bitch-face (except pizza?)
I spent way too long working on this, though i admit it feels good to draw something semi-complete. #art #drawing
Also missed having my characters. This is Adriana; she is a surfer and half Peruvian which is fun because I always include Andean designs into her style (I drew from serpent motifs of the Paracas in the print of her shirt). I made her a bit edgier than before; lower-cut shirt, denim vest, plugs, more zen demeanor, bigger muscles, a bit bustier. And I have no idea where those big eyebrows came from. They are not in the original character design but I like them and they are staying.
Ok. This is not my marketing work.
BUT it is related to my Ancient Andean class! Totally.
Because this drawing is meant to be this character I made up quite a while ago named Adriana and she is half Peruvian so this makes sense! Her hair styling is common among Valdivian women (3000-1500 BCE), though that is Ecuador and not Peru. But also, I included a spider design in her tattoo that is the same as those of the Nazca Lines located in Peru, made sometime between 400 and 650 CE. And many Andean cultures were known for their distended lobes.
So, essentially, ancient Andean cultures were some of the first to have undercuts and plugs. Dig it.
I am in a state of restlessness. I should sleep, but it’s not seeming to work. It’s probably because I’m feeling like my drawing looks.
I’m going to try to sleep. It’s off to the gym in the morning.
