Daily Routine
I thought that I’d compilate (which is almost like the word “compile” but more fun) a list of fitness activities I do everyday. This is a rough estimate based off of my fencing practices during the week. Also, my shins have been giving me some trouble for a good two months now and I’ve been unable to run or do stadiums. So there will be a lot of biking/elliptical in place of that. I really hate not being able to run.
- 10 minute fast bike. (Substitution for laps in fencing room: jogging, side steps, karaoke, high knees, butt-kicks).
- Stretch.
- 6 twisties, 12 leg throws, 6 twisties. (Twisties: come in sets of two, push up with a one arm plank after each./ leg throws: come in sets of three, for left, center, and right.)
- Footwork, with a good amount of lunge walks, squats, high knees in en garde, non-dominant footwork, etc. Usual footwork stuff as well.
- Thrown into footwork are usually another 12 twisties/ 12 legthrows/ 40 side crunches each side/ 40 half pikes/ 40 sit ups with punches to opposite sides/ or planks. We don’t do all of them in one day but I’m pretty sure we’ve gotten close to it.
- Celebratory twisties ALL THE TIME.
- By now, at least an hour has elapsed.
- The rest of the hour is usually spent fencing, sometimes doing drills but usually open bouts among the squad.
- Sometimes there is a mile run before footwork, in which case I go bike for another 10-15 minutes.
- Also, circuits are thrown in every so often as well as weight room visits. I’m too lazy to explain those in detail but they entail GETTING HUGE. (I’m only kidding a little)
